Yet despite their vital contributions, they are often not seen as companions, but rather as commodities.

The Challenge They Face

As I travel through Africa, I see countless organizations and NGOs supporting causes like poverty, HIV, and Malaria, but hardly anyone tries to ease the suffering of the Canis Africanis - the dogs that roam the streets and villages of Africa.
Many suffer abuse, neglect, and abandonment. They deserve better.

Our Mission: Changing Mindsets

We don't just want to support those that suffer the most abuse. In the long-term, we want to create awareness that can hopefully change the mindset of people - to start seeing the Africanis as a valuable companion, not a commodity.
We aim to do this by demonstrating compassion that can inspire a change in mindset. Our work is directly funded through the profits the Africanis™ brand generates.

Our Sanctuary Work

Since 2020, I have dedicated much of my time to the welfare of Canis Africanis dogs across Southern Africa. Our sanctuary cares for 12-20 animals at any given time, some with disabilities, and we support as many street dogs as our resources allow.
With care, they transform. They heal. They thrive.
