My name is Stephan, and I'm an expedition guide in Africa. Every day, I witness the raw beauty of this continent - and the challenges it faces.

Turning Pain Into Pearls - A Story of Purpose

But, this story begins long before the bush, long before the foundation, long before this brand.
It begins with a courageous woman - my mother.
My twin sister and I lost our mother when we were very little. But before she passed, she fought - courageously - for what is just, for her twins. She refused to look away from darkness. She refused to be intimidated by those who harmed her twins.
Her courage cost her everything. But it taught me everything.
I learned that when you witness suffering, you act. When you see injustice, you fight. When darkness enters your life, you have a choice: let it destroy you, or transform it into something beautiful.

Oister™ Foundation - Our Vision

That's why we named our foundation Oister™. Our mother wore pearls. She used to tell my sister and I, "the world is your oyster".
The name is inspired by the oyster - a creature that does something remarkable. When something harmful enters its shell - a grain of sand, a parasite, bad bacteria - the oyster doesn't reject it. It transforms it. Layer by layer, it turns that irritant into something precious: a pearl.
This is our mission. This is our mother's legacy.
We create beauty from suffering. We turn pain into pearls.

In Memory of Our Mother

In memory of our mother, my twin sister and I founded the Oister Foundation - a registered non-profit (PBO No. 930078452) dedicated to turning pain into purpose.

The Challenge: Funding the Transformation

Running a foundation is hard. Funding it is harder. We quickly learned that passion and purpose aren't enough - we needed sustainable income to keep transforming lives.
That's when I created Africanis™.

Africanis™ - My Solution

While Oister Foundation is a team effort, Africanis™ is my creation - born from my work as an expedition guide and my determination to fund our foundation's mission.
I can't do it all alone, though. My partners in Oister are part of this journey too. Together, we're building something sustainable - turning commerce into compassion, sales into salvation.
Africanis™ generates income that goes directly into the Oister Foundation's work to protect Africanis dogs and conserve their deep-rooted heritage in Africa. Every purchase is part of the transformation.
